What a beautiful action: this bay Shire Horse is showing his paces in a Ladies cart - an elegant two-wheeled gig designed for heavy horses and is popular in the show ring. Shire Horses, or the English Cart Horse as it was once known, were very numerous in this Country for many years as a draft horse in the city and country, but since mechanisation has taken over its number have dropped considerably. The Shire is now classed by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust as an "At Risk" of extinction breed. From my original painting on linen.
A beautifully printed image, from my original artwork, using archival paper and pigmented inks for long lasting prints.
